Hey guys! Here’s a quick rundown of my staple beauty items that I use for a soft everyday look. Of course, when I feel like being fancy I may do an actual eyeshadow look or apply falsies etc, but these are the 10 makeup items that I ALWAYS have on hand!
MOISTURIZER :: I always like to start off with a well moisturized face. I’ve been using Clinique’s Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion for about a year now and I love how it leaves my skin super hydrated and supple.
FOUNDATION :: To even out my skin tone I apply a bit of foundation, and my holy-grail of the moment is Chanel Perfection Lumiere. It goes on smoothly, lasts all day, and has a nice luminous matte finish. I like that it’s light weight, but you can definitely build it up for fuller coverage.
CONCEALER :: I use a bit of concealer on my under eye area to cover dark circles and 9 times out of 10 I reach for my MAC Studio Finish Concealer. It’s long wearing and provides the ideal amount of coverage to brighten under the eyes, conceal blemishes, etc without being too heavy. I sometimes also use it as a highlighter on the bridge of my nose and forehead.
POWDER :: Shine be gone! I’ve been using this setting powder for a few years now, and it is the perfect finish to my makeup. I use it to set my concealer and for an overall light dusting and it gives such a smooth flawless look. If my face starts to shine throughout the day, it is easy to reapply without looking caked up.
EYELINER :: I use an eyeliner pencil to fill in my sparse brows and the NYC pencil in dark brown not only does the trick, but it’s also super inexpensive. It stays put all day and I can usually find it for less than $1- win win.
SOFT BROWN EYE SHADOW :: When I’m going for a natural face, I apply a bit of shadow a shade or two darker than my skin tone like MAC Saddle all over my lid for a barely-there hint of color.
MASCARA :: To define and thicken my lashes I use a mascara like MAC Zoom Fast Black Lash. This product adds length and volume to make my eyes pop, but doesn’t get clumpy.
BLUSH :: To add some color to my cheeks I use NARS Angelika blush. I have warm undertones and this blush goes perfectly with my skin. It’s super pigmented so I apply it with a light hand. It’s very easy to blend and applies like velvet. My cheeks get just a touch of pink- enough to notice but subtle enough that it still looks natural- love it!
BRONZER :: To look a bit more radiant I use a bronzer, and my current favorite product to use is MAC Gold Deposit Mineralize Skinfinish. I apply it in a sweeping motion on the area above my cheeks for a healthy sun kissed glow.
GLOSS :: Finally for my lips, I reach for any pinkish gloss such as NARS Turkish Delight. This adds a slight pink tint with a hint of shine. It’s not too thick and also works great when layering over a lipstick.
