Comfy and dressed down or casual chic? Last night that was the question! I was heading out to catch an NBA game and didn’t know what route to take apparel wise. I’m far from a sports fanatic, and can count on one hand how many times I’ve actually watched a basketball game. Suffice to say, I’m not very into the sporty look and a t-shirt and sneakers get up was never on the menu for me, but I still didn’t want to run the risk of being on team “Too Much.”
After a few minutes of going back and forth, I said to hell with it and decided to just go with an outfit I would wear on a normal outing. I hate how stumpy flats can make you look, and If I am going somewhere other than the grocery store or a quick errand run, most of the time I will have on a heeled shoe. On this occasion, I felt a sleek simple shoe would go best with the outfit I had in mind, so I went with my favorite pair of knee boots. My sweater was a recent find, and the texture and structure really drew me to it. It is such an amazing piece- I tell you, the pictures do it no justice. It’s also super warm, making it perfect for this winter weather. Accessories are the real MVP. I truly believe small details tie a look together, and rarely will you catch me without something on my wrist. I also threw on a tiered necklace pair for a subtle contrast against the sweater. I think the look meshed quite nicely and you can never go wrong with doing what feels natural.
The moral of this story is to DO YOU BOO! Don’t overthink it, wear whatever you feel happy and comfortable in. Why try to fit in?
As for the game, I really enjoyed myself. I stayed until 4th quarter (usually I get bored and leave sporting events by half time), so that’s definitely a win in my book.
